Details: Melifluous Sound but needs a buffer amp
I purchased one of these, expecting great things for a cheap price. I was initially very disappointed - no bass at all! I worked out eventually that the output impedence is way too high for input into a solid state amp. So I passed the output into a Burson Audio Buffer Amp, which reduced the impedence from over 50K to about 50 Ohms! The result was everything I had hoped for: Detailed intoxicating sound, with good extended bass, outstanding midrange. Lovely.

I have enjoyed the Ming-Da phono stage for a year now. It, like the Mc 7R line pre amp, is of top notch quality. I am using the mm stage running an Audio-Technica AT-440 ML cartridge. The turntable is a highly modified Bic 990. It is now a manual player. The sound of this phono stage is lush. Details: Well build and superb sound
Equipment used: Project RPM 4 tunable, Adyton Opera amplifier, Klipsch RB-75 loudspeakers. The sound is very detailed and open. The treble and midrange is superb, the bass is somewhat low (I do not know this comes from this unit or the tunable).
